Santizo Visuals

In the depths of Youtube there exists a not very well known jewel of visual art, it is a channel called Santizo Visuals which contains very peculiar videos. If you are a type of person with the desire to grasp the complexity of unpredictable videos to the edge of epileptic attacks along with explosions, sensual women, in some other cases even Jean-Claude Van Damme & other unexpected content, this channel might call your attention. The creator takes you to LSD trips without the need of consuming the psychedelic drug.

In the case of the following video containing music from the artist Skrillex related to the dubstep genre, the channel attempts to represent its visual representation of the song Bangarang.

By adjusting the appearance of words along with the vocals of the music, all the images follow a rhythm with the songs tempo. The first time I watched such video, I was not able to emit an opinion because I was not able to digest what just happened, however, instead of being confused, a feeling of euphoria filled my mind by the mixture of scenes & elements I would have never conceived brought together in a music video.

Another video that caught my attention was the version of Burial by Yogi & Skrillex, in this case, it would be interesting if we make a comparison.

Video Santizo Visuals

After watching the previous videos, frankly I enjoyed a lot the official version of the video with the choreography, the erratic atmosphere created by the masks used by the dancers, the brief appearance of Dennis Rodman & the fact of lighting up a person on fire in the process – For a moment it was epic!!!, really good.

But, when you compare the video with the Santizo Visuals version using the same music track you can watch the growth by the creator, the combination of the harmony hidden by the screens at the background that represent conventional images of a news broadcaster. Van Damme suddenly appears in the right section of the video carrying a trajectory to the other edge of the screen making a nodding gesture with his head, the presence of sensual women until Van Damme comes through once again in the upper part of the video having a heart seizure. For an instant, the video seems to take us to a certain point where he commits homicide against television through the machinery in charge of manufacturing the news, using sensual women imagery as a distractor in time lapses.  The video reaches a state of acceptance at the end with Van Damme finding a sort of remote control that resembles a bomb, maybe I am philosophizing too much… but it leaves me thinking.

Finally, another video that I enjoyed is the following one, I would like to make another comparison talking about the origins of the original video material that belongs to The Chemical Brothers – Wide Open Ft. Beck & the combination with the music track of Middle from Dj Snake (Mija Remix) proposed by Santizo Visuals.

Official Video: The Chemical Brothers – Wide Open Ft. Beck

Official Song: Dj Snake – Middle (Midja Remix)

Santizo Visuals

This video has a much more aesthetic environment in the aspect that I can appreciate much more calmly the video, colors that relax me & a choreography accompanied by glitches & the Middle by Dj Snake in its Mija Remix version. The video seems to contain something that makes it seem beautiful with less aggressive music than the two previous Burial video. We can observe how the creator not only makes use of over saturation, but that it can combine key elements that allow the viewer to assimilate visually with calm what is happening.

Based on the obtained visual experience, I conclude that the Santizo Visuals channel reaches a point where it tries to innovate, despite not being popular & not having many visitors, it brings a proposal to break down boundaries. But it definitely possesses a style that grants it its own identity & I find it difficult to replicate.
